If you wish to submit an exhibition project or a project for a Residency to our selection committee, please send us a dossier by post office:
(Contretype asbl: 4A, Cité Fontainas - 1060 Bruxelles - Belgium).

Your dossier should include:

- a CV,

- a statement (one page maximum). It will explain your approach, the conception of the work submited,

- the registration form, properly completed and signed (to download here), add the mention "Artist in Residency" if you apply for that,

- a maximum of 20 reading prints on paper (maximum A4 size), without any commercial value (no original prints),
or, according to the project, a DVD (only if your work includes the use of video or any new technologies),

- an explanatory technical text about the works (techniques, sizes, any peculiar installation principle, ...),

- any other useful document (book, layout, dummy, ...).


- the projets will be submitted once a year to an advisory selection committee composed of artists, critics, publishers and curators. The committee will select the projects that will be included in the future Contretype programmation,

- in accordance with its past programming (consult our archives, in French), Contretype wish essentially to promote innovative creations, as well as reflective about the photographic medium,

- age of minimum 20 years old is required,
- students still under artistic studies (photo option) are not admited,

- the dossiers will be sent by post (no registered mail please) or left at Contretype (from We to Fr, from 12 am to 6 pm, Sat and Sunday, from 1 to 6 pm, except on holyday),

- the dossiers will not be sent back by postal mail. Nevertheless, it will be possible to get them back at Contretype, during opening hours. Contretype will keep them at your disposal during 1 year max.,

- Contretype will refuse to accept any responsibility and obligation in case of loss or damage,

- the proper reception of the dossiers will be confirmed by mail, as well as the possible selection by the selection committee.
